Young adults are more likely to cohabitate than marry and those who do marry, marry later. Research shows unmarried, cohabitating couples are more likely to suffer domestic violence and unfavorable economic situations. Learning healthy relationship skills while dating can better prepare young adults for healthy marriages.
The National Resource Center for Healthy Marriage and Families partnered with Family Bridges to develop the Dating IRL series of short videos on dating and relationship topics such as first and second date etiquette, staying together, making choices, dealing with baggage, exploring the dating app world and the potential of ghosting, meeting the parents, and the success sequence. Each of the videos are 60-seconds or less and offer some tips and food for thought on teen dating.
