Journal Title:
Nine Ways to Secure Foundation Funds.

This brochure from the National Responsible Fatherhood Capacity Building Initiative discusses nine strategies for securing foundation funding for programs promoting responsible fatherhood. The strategies include: learn as much as possible about foundations that might fund the program, prepare a comprehensive plan for approaching foundations, get organized, recognize a foundation's culture, identify insiders, cultivate relationships with key foundation representatives, locate other nonprofit and community organizations that have been awarded grants from the target foundations in the past and learn what specific services or initiatives were funded, set reasonable expectations, and persevere if a foundation does not fund the program immediately.
